Professor Dr Chan Chee Seng

Professor Dr. Chan Chee Seng is a highly experienced educator and academic leader with 50 years of experience in teaching, training, programme design & development, management, pioneering institutional growth and consultancy at school, tertiary, corporate levels and international level. Thousands of students, teachers, lecturers and corporate trainers both young and old has come through his tutelage and many of his students have excelled in their careers in both business and education domain.
His 50 long years of education service can be summed up by the analogy as starting his teaching career by providing fish(teaching specific body of knowledge such as Economics etc..) to his students, moving on to teaching students how to fish ( the skills and techniques of learning how to learn, the art and the science of learning using cognitive science applications such as Mind Mapping), creating fishing ponds for learners to fish/learn (programme design and develop qualifications to be earned by learners for career and life success). Completing the cycle with maintaining the health of fishing ponds( quality and standard maintenance and enhancement).
His expertise spans both the fields of education and management having the passion and schooled in these two fields at the Undergraduate, Master and Doctorate level. He has held various senior management positions in numerous prominent private education groups in Malaysia and Singapore include public listed entities and at the tender age of 25 already rose to the position as the youngest principal of a private college of education.
He spearheaded transnational education partnerships with more than 10 universities from the UK, USA, Europe, Malaysia and Australia offering internationally recognized undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications at affordable price since the early 1990s and through innovative delivery modes and systems augmented with emerging application of education technology enable a network of learning centres operating and spanning more than 15 countries globally and reaching out to learners predominantly in the Asia Pacific region.
Teaching, remains as Professor Dr Chan’s passion and he simultaneously held credentialed Adjunct faculty status with more than 15 universities from the USA, UK, Europe , Australia and Malaysia both as lecturer as well as Thesis supervisor since 1990 to present despite his senior leadership roles and responsibilities.
Professor Dr Chan facilitated a wide range of management subjects, including Strategic Management, Cross-Cultural Management, Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leading Change, and Business Research Methodology.
His expertise extend to the area in teacher education and development, pedagogy, andragogy, online learning, Outcome Based Education, Assessment and Principle of Constructive Alignment.
Professor Dr Chan had personally developed and conducted numerous programmes focused on enhancing learning effectiveness, including Brain-Based Learning, student learning skills, and curriculum/instructional design involving thousands of students and teachers over the years.
Professor Dr Chan was appointed an Associate Professor and Adjunct faculty by IPE Management School, Paris in 2014.
In 2020 he spearheaded the establishment and academic development of Brittany Universite (an Online University) registered and approved in Paris, France. He currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer and Professor of Education. Brittany Universite has since January 2023 assumed a new identity renamed as Institut Brittany d’Enseignement Superieur (IBES).
