About Rhory
I love rainy days at Starbucks, black licorice, and smooth jazz. But most of all I love kids, all ages! Uncovering their gifts gets me out of bed in the morning. I’ve been a general education and special education teacher for more that 25 years. Right now, I’m an educational therapist, a learning detective if you will. A graduate of Brooklyn College, I majored in Speech and Theatre and earned a BA degree there. My Master of Science Degree is from Cal Lutheran University in Special Education with a minor in Mediated Learning. A plethora of wallpaper dons my office; two special education credentials, one multicultural credential, and one in general education. But how I learn the most about kids is not from the wallpaper, but from their moms and dads. I’m proud of my accomplishments, including having performed stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, publishing the book, Prison of Doom, and teaching my two-year-old niece how to say my name. All of these make my heart glow, but watching my students overcome the obstacles in their lives …priceless!
Born in Brooklyn, Rhory refuses to hike as she was born in a “wad of cement.” Now living in California, she resides with her four favorite teddy bears, two reclining chairs, and way too many Dodger baseball bobbleheads.
